Continuing education on the use of nursing robots
The use of nursing assistant robots is playing an increasingly important role in health and social care facilities. However, regular nursing training still takes too little account of this. For this reason, a European consortium has been formed to develop a transcultural training program for nursing staff and to put it into practice. This is aimed at health and social care professionals as well as teachers.
So-called Massive Open Access Online Courses (MOOC) will be developed to teach both the positive and negative implications of socially active robots and artificial intelligence, taking into account aspects of diversity and social inclusion. The practical foundations for the introduction of care assistance robots, human-robot interaction, technical operation, and malfunction response are taught. Ethical requirements form a central component.
